Changes Implemented Based on Player Testing
1. Added a Midpoint to Stop Drivers from Cheating
- To ensure fair play, we've added a midpoint checkpoint that players must cross before a lap is counted. This prevents players from cheating by driving back and forth over the finish line without completing the full lap.
2. Added a Pause Menu
- We've added a pause menu accessible by pressing the Escape key. This menu allows players to pause and resume the game or return to the main menu, providing better control over their gaming experience.
3. Updated UI to Scale with Webpage Zoom
- To accommodate different screen sizes and zoom levels, we've updated the UI to scale appropriately. This ensures that all players have a consistent and enjoyable visual experience, regardless of their browser settings.

4. Updated Car Turning Abilities
- Based on player feedback, we’ve fine-tuned the car turning mechanics to improve responsiveness and control. The cars now turn more swiftly, enhancing the overall driving experience.
Player Feedback
What Players Enjoyed:
- Obstacles on the Track: Players enjoyed maneuvering around various obstacles, which added an extra layer of challenge and excitement to the game.
- Handling: The car handling received high praise for being very responsive and enjoyable.
- Graphics and Particle Effects: The visual aspects of the game, including the graphics and particle effects, were well-received and appreciated.
- Nostalgic Feel: The game reminded many players of slot car racing, a nostalgic and beloved pastime.
- Zoom Feature: The ability to zoom in and out of the cars was a feature that players particularly liked, providing dynamic viewing angles.
Least Liked Aspects:
- Turning Speed: Some players felt that the cars didn't turn as quickly as they would like, which has now been adjusted.
- Car Speed: The general consensus was that the cars were a bit too fast, making them harder to control. Slowing down the cars slightly could improve manageability.
- Tight Turns: The narrow turns on the track were challenging for some players. Widening these turns could help players stay on the track more easily.
- Finish Line Cheating: Players discovered that they could cheat by crossing the finish line back and forth. This issue has been resolved with the new midpoint checkpoint.
Overall Player Sentiment
The overall feedback from players has been extremely positive. Here are some of the highlights:
- "You Killed it."
- "Game is really good."
These comments reflect the hard work and dedication put into the game's development, and I'm thrilled that players are enjoying the experience.
Thank you to all the players who participated in testing and provided valuable feedback. Your input is crucial in helping me improve and refine the game. Keep an eye out for more updates as I continue to enhance your racing experience!
